Jon Buttles,
Managing Partner and Founder
Jon is a financial executive that has built his career around working with entrepreneurs in the venture and middle market space. Jon's experience includes principal investing, corporate lending, private equity, venture capital and investment
banking. Jon founded Core Equity
Group in 2004. Prior to Core Equity Group, Jon was Managing
Director of a technology investment bank in Newport Beach, California.
Jon also worked for Monument Advisors, a middle market investment bank
in Indianapolis, Indiana managing two funds for Monument Capital
Partners, and for Bank One, now JP Morgan Chase, where Jon held
various positions in the corporate lending group. Jon received his
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Miami
University, Oxford, Ohio. Licenses held: Series 79, 63 through
Merriman Capital, Inc.
Jeff Hickman, Managing Partner
Jeff brings a broad range of experience from operational management in
large Fortune 500 companies to financial strategies and new venture
creation. Jeff was formerly
the Vice President of Technology and Operations for a division within
the Cendant Corporation before coming to Core Equity Group as Managing
Director. Jeff has worked
as a new venture specialist at Core since its inceptiong, helping to start and
operate several ventures.
Jeff received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree
from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.
Additionally, Jeff completed Six Sigma Green Belt training in
2004.
Mark Lazarus, Venture Partner (UK)
Mark has a passion for technology, having studied Media & Technology at Loughborough University. Mark worked as an analyst at Wills & Co. private Stockbrokers in London. Mark soon developed an interest in corporate finance and joined the Private equity team supporting AIM listed companies during secondary issues. From there Mark joined Inflect Technologies a small Tech incubator focused on commercialising University IP. Mark has experience in raising Equity and Debt finance, and is FSA regulated. DeckView Ventures was established in 2011 to provide support to start-ups with an IT focus. |
